Questions about Collection and Posting
Some couriers may be greyed out when you are entering items in your basket for several reasons:
- Quote value under £55 - no couriers available
- Parcelforce and PostOffice greyed out - we cannot afford these services on smaller quotes
- High value quotes - we use the most reliable and faster couriers available
- Oversize item - some couriers have strict sizing rules
- Overweight item - we estimate the weight of your quote as it is keyed in and some couriers may not be available if it goes over their weight allowance
If you are sending the parcel youself, the address to post the parcel to is shown at the top of the quote document. You can
view and reprint the quote document on the Quote Status page.
If we are arranging collection, the address to post the parcel to is on the courier label. When we have booked the
courier, the link to print the label will be on the Quote Status page. Otherwise,
we will send your label to you in the post(quotes over £75 are eligible for posted labels). When our courier collects the parcel, you must
retain the consignment note(if one is available) as proof of collection. Similarly if you are using a drop off service, you must option a receipt from the drop off location
when you hand over the parcel.
You will choose the number of parcels per collection when you place your quote subject to the parcel allowance (see 'How much is
delivery' below).
If you send more than one
parcel with one label e.g. two parcels strapped together or the same label printed twice, it is likely than one will go missing
in the post. We cannot be held responsible for loss in post if you send more parcels than have been booked with the courier.
The weight limit per parcel and maximum parcel sizes for the four couriers we use can be found here.
If you choose us to collect your parcel, UK delivery is free for a set number of parcels
per quote - depending on the quote value. Quotes under £55 do not qualify for free courier.
The following list explains the parcel allowance:
- Quote value £55 to £150 - 1st parcel is free
- Quote value up to £299 - 2 parcels free
- Quote value over £300 - 3 parcels free
- Quote value over £500 - 4 parcels free
- Quote value over £750 - 5 parcels free
If you need to send your quote in more boxes than your parcel allowance, we will deduct £8 per additional
parcel from the quote total. You cannot change the quantity of parcels after we have booked a collection.
If you are sending the quote yourself, we will contribute towards the cost of posting and this amount is visible at the
bottom of your selling basket. We will only contribute the amount specified and you must meet the additional cost of
posting if our postage credit is insufficient. The postage credit varies significantly depending on whether a large quantity
of lower value games are sent vs a small quantity of recent titles. This is because we offer a percentage of the value of the
quote not the weight. We also have no control over the means that you choose to post the parcel.
We recommend using Parcel2go which offers courier delivery for as little as £3.99+VAT.
If you merge items from a selfposting quote into a quote for which we arrange courier, you will not receive any postage credit
because you are not incurring any postage costs.
For courier collection we will use Parcelforce or Hermes to collect your parcel. They can only collect on a weekday (excluding
bank holidays) and you must have someone available all day (9am - 5.30pm Parcelforce, 8am - 8pm Hermes) to hand over the parcel. More info
and info on dropoff services can be found here.
When you book your quote, you get the
opportunity to specify a short courier note e.g. collect from neighbour (no. 11) if out. If you enter an time specific note
e.g. out between 9am and 10am, they may take this into consideration if it is a short period.
Unattended parcels: Please note that you can leave your parcel for the driver if you feel it safe to do so but we have to warn you that, while
unattended your parcel won't be covered for loss or damage. In addition to this, we cannot guarantee that the driver will collect an unattended parcel
as this is at their own discretion. We recommend for you to leave a note at the property to advise the driver where the parcel is being left.
