The warring factions of three Han Dynasties take to the battlefield once more in a violent and bloody struggle to determine who should rule the Empire. Dynasty Tactics 2 transports you to ancient China on a tactical mission to out-think opposing armies and emerge victorious.

In a similar vein to the classic board game Risk, Dynasty Tactics 2 is all about forward-thinking and strategy. Commanding an army on a quest to quell opposing forces, you'll venture up hill and down war-torn dale in search of enemies to battle, and build up a formidable band of soldiers along the way. As leader, you'll need to make decisions that will affect how events unfold and issue orders to officers who, in turn, will command battalions of warriors. There's an impressive 84 stages to chin-stroke your way through, with wonderfully animated cut-scenes to supplement the lengthy strategising.

Impressively, there are more than 90 different tactics to unleash on unlucky adversaries, including a new tactical 'chain system' which allows you to hit enemies with multiple attacks in a single turn. The 'Ultimate Warrior of the Three Kingdoms', Lu Bu, is now also available as a playable character. The sheer scale of Dynasty Tactics 2 is mind-boggling, and the level of detail almost intimidating to the first-time military strategist. But it's worth persisting if you're new to Koei's epic; fans of the original will no doubt testify as to the engrossing nature of the game.
