Sonic and Tails must stop Dr. Robotnik from rebuilding his Death Egg, which crash landed on the Floating Island which floats because of the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Get them before Robotnik does. However, Knuckles the Echidna, an inhabitant of the Floating Island tries to prevent you from doing so.
Guide Sonic and Tails through 6 zones, each 3 times bigger than those found in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Collect rings, defeat enemies, look for bonus stages to get all Chaos Emeralds.
You can save your game and choose from levels you've already visited. You can also race against the clock in a time trial mode or 2 player mode.
