About Us

Chillout Games specializes in rare, collectible and imported video games for all platforms since 1980. The business was established in 2003 and we now have over 100,000 customers in 44 countries around the world.

We stock games, consoles and accessories for all the major console platforms, retro machines and handhelds and in the past 13 years our catalogue has grown to over 36,000 titles. As of January 2018, there are 30,000 high resolution pictures of actual games for sale on the site. Most of our games are used/ preowned but we also sell some new factory sealed games.

We also run a retro games website which we acquired in 2007 together with a sizeable inventory of retro gaming stock. The site has a great retro gaming museum and we are currently working on improving the links between the two sites.

At Chillout Games we:

  • Grade and describe all games for sale; highlighting missing/scruffy manuals or inlays in the item description
  • Provide detailed photos of actual games for sale - the picture you see is picture you get
  • Provide gameplay videos to help you choose
  • Check our prices daily and regularly reduce prices
  • Provide a selling cart here for you to value your games instantly
  • Remove heavy marks and scratches on game discs - literally every mark we can see!
  • Clean all games cases, remove shop stickers and replace cracked cases
  • Ensure all games on the website have the correct manual and inlays
  • Recycle the packaging that comes into the business
  • Use RESY packaging to send out your games
  • Dispatch orders received before 4pm the same workday

Other Developments:

The new website[2] was completed in 2010 including the 'Sell My Games' section which went live in December.

In 2011, we expanded into 1,900 sq ft premises in Manchester

In 2013, we increased the choice of couriers to send in your games to four including two convenient drop off services.

Last year, we completed the challenging task of photographing every game for sale - several 100s of thousands of photos over the past 12 months.

At the start of 2016, we moved into a 2,500 sq ft unit in an historic Industrial Park with gated entry, easy access for couriers and close to major road and air routes.

Now we have a stable SQL server database platform and the in-house expertise to continue the development, we will be rolling out more features through 2018.

Some of these features are:

  • Intelligent Wishlist notification to allow you to specify what condition of game you would like
  • Shop credit to get priority wishlist placement - we will actively hunt down these games for you
  • Cheap courier option for European customers to buy consoles and heavy items
  • Sell Games cart available to European customers to send in their games with free courier collection

We have upgraded our machinery to repair up to 400 scratched discs per day but unfortunately we do not offer a disc repair service (apart from warranty repairs).

During 2018, we will expand the 'Sell My Games' cart to include more retro platforms and thousands of Japanese, USA and European import titles. We currently provide buying prices for:

2600, 32x, 32x CD, 3DO, 3DS, 7800, Book, C64, ColecoVision, Dreamcast, DS, Game and Watch, GameCube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, GBA, Gamegear, Intellivision, Jaguar, Jaguar CD, Master System, MegaCD, Megadrive, N64, NeoGeo Pocket, NES, PC CD, PC DVD, Plug and Play TVs, PS Vita, Playstation, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, PSP UMD, Saturn, SNES, Spectrum, Switch, Tabletop, Vectrex, Wii, Wii U, XBox 360, XBox, Xbox One
