The Raiden Project contains two classic arcade games: Raiden and Raiden II. The Raiden Project features 16 levels total between both games, and just as in the arcade, a friend may play simultaneously to help you battle the enemy forces.
One thing the PlayStation is undoubtedly superior at is arcade conversions. Take a look at Ridge Racer, Mortal Kombat 3 and Tekken to name but a few. Raiden Project sits comfortably alongside these more ambitious titles as both a seriously playable challenge and one of the best value for money titles available.
Both the original Raiden and Raiden II are crammed into one disc, offering thousands of enemies, huge, seemingly indestructible end-of-level bosses and co-operative blasting action. Slightly tweaked sound adds to the tension, but often you're so engrossed in battle Garth Brooks could be playing and you'd never notice.
Raiden is proof that gameplay is the most important aspect of gaming. Essential blasting action.
